Mozes on A&E’s Hammertime

So what do Mozes and MC Hammer have in common? Well, not much. But we do have some history with the Rap/Funk legend. Way back when we were in the garage, MC Hammer visited Mozes to learn more about our business. Hammer and Mozes CEO, Dorrian Porter, discuss this encounter at Stanford’s VLAB last month. Watch the clip here:

During this VLAB panel, Hammer’s  “Hammertime” camera crew kept the cameras rolling. Watch the first episode on Sunday, June 14 at 10:00 p.m. on A&E Network. The schedule listings show the Stanford segment will air the same night, June 14 at 10:30 p.m. Tune in and catch a glimpse of Dorrian!

As a side note, the NY Times yesterday included “Hammertime” in their list of “some of the more noteworthy shows of the summer television season.”

Broadcast Preview Now Available on Mozes Connect

We’re rolling out with some great new features and enhancements over the next couple of months. One small, but mighty feature that I’d like to bring to your attention is Mozes Connect’s Broadcast Preview widget.  Once you have your message prepared to broadcast out to your mob, you will see a preview of how this message will appear on the phone, as well as tabulate how many mob members will receive the message based on your narrowcast criteria. For instance, I plan to send the messabe below to only Los Angeles residents. I know immediatey why and who will receive my broadcast.

Pics to Screen is a new self service campaign offered on our mobile engagement platform, Mozes Connect, that allows people to send mobile photos to a display screen in a live event setting. Participants simply send their photos and watch them appear on screen. You can choose to moderate the photos. Below is an example Pics to Screen in action at SXSW event. Click here to see the example display screen I just made on the spot. I have chosen a custom background skin for my campaign.  This is great tool to get your attendees engaged in your event and interacting with brand sponsors.

Mozes is delighted to bring you Pics-to-Web to further engage your mobile audience –  whether they are attending your live event or not!  This campaign allows you to embed a widget on your website that displays mobile images that are sent to keyword@mozes.com. Pics-to-Web allows audience members to interact with your web properties, regardless of their locale. Check out the Mozes MySpace page as an example. You can see I also chose a different display skin as my Pics to Screen campaign above.

Mozes CEO Dorrian Porter Makes Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal’s Annual “40 Under 40” List of Silicon Valley Rising Stars

Mozes CEO, Dorrian Porter, has been named to the 2009 Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal’s ’40 Under 40′ list, which comprises 40 young professionals under the age of 40 chosen based on their entrepreneurial spirit, community contributions and impact on their respective industries in Silicon Valley.

Porter was selected for his role as an innovator and visionary in the area of mobile marketing. As CEO of Mozes, Porter is responsible for the overall strategy and day-to-day operations of the company and its ongoing efforts to evangelize mobile experiences as a must-have element in today’s marketing mix.

Pac Div Talks About Mozes Music-to-Go in Vibe

image002.jpgCheck out the June/July issue of Vibe Magazine. Hip hop phenoms from Los Angeles, Pacific Division, chat it up about their NYC Music-to-Go show, powered by Mozes at the Knitting Factory. Fans texted PACDIV to 66937 to join the group’s mobile fan club and receive a ticket for FREE access to the show directly to their mobile phones. Busta Rhymes was also in the house and closed the show to a packed Factory of mobile fans.

Mozes Named Top 50 Finalist by TiEcon

This year’s TiEcon is hosting its first annual showcase of the hottest and most promising startup companies across five segments–Internet Infrastructure, Wireless, Cleantech, Software, and Consumer Web. 1200 nominees were dwindled down to 150.  The 150 TiE50 finalists then underwent a rigorous screening process that included industry experts’ analysis as well as a public vote to emerge with the Top 50 Hottest Startups. Mozes is delighted to announce our inclusion in the Top 50!

A Mozes executive will be presenting on Friday and Saturday evening, May 15 and 16 in the Wireless category.
